Latitude 45 Arts is very proud to announce that we will be representing "Flute Passion: Claude Bolling", a project by flutist Nadia Labrie paying tribute to the french composer.
In collaboration with Jonathan Turgeon on piano, Dominic Girard on bass, and Bernard Riche on drums, Flute Passion: Claude Bolling is an ambitious, multi-year project that celebrates the iconic works of Claude Bolling. This long-term endeavor will culminate in a three-album set, scheduled for release on the ATMA Classique label in November 2025.
While the full set is still on the horizon, you can dive into Flute Passion: Claude Bolling now with Vol.1, which features Bolling’s Suite no.1 for Flute and Jazz Piano Trio, available in digital format. And stay tuned—Vol.2, showcasing the Suite no.2 for the same ensemble, is just around the corner!
Read below what Nadia Labrie has to say about the project*:
Moving out of my comfort zone and taking on new challenges: that was my frame of mind before embarking on this major project to record the complete works for flute and jazz piano trio by Claude Bolling. As Jean-Pierre Rampal had experienced in his time, I too had never had the occasion to play with jazz musicians before. Bolling’s work provided me with the possibility of exploring a new type of musical ensemble, and I was delighted with the opportunity!
