Jean-Michel Pilc's new release on Justin Time Records

Updated: Sep 1, 2020

JUSTIN TIME RECORDS IS PLEASED TO PRESENT THE FIRST SINGLE RELEASED WITH NEW SIGNING JEAN-MICHEL PILC

RIMOUSKI SUNSET WILL BE RELEASED ON SEPTEMBER 4TH.

Canada’s premiere Jazz label Justin Time Records is very pleased and excited to announce the signing of renowned pianist Jean-Michel Pilc.  Praised for his improvisations, pianist and composer Jean-Michel has performed with numerous jazz giants. He worked with Harry Belafonte as his musical director and pianist and performed a duet with the legendary opera singer Jessye Norman.  An active solo performer on the international scene, Jean-Michel has released four critically-acclaimed solo piano records, he regularly performs in trio with both Montreal and NYC-based ensembles at top venues throughout both cities.

‘Rimouski Sunset’ will be the first of five singles to be released over the next several months – culminating in the release of an EP in March 2021.  A serene and meditative track – as Jean-Michel opines: “true inspiration is something intangible which, as Einstein put it, our minds cannot grasp and whose beauty reaches us only indirectly. "Rimouski Sunset," improvised while watching a beautiful image but without trying to describe it, is about how our senses can interact mysteriously and turn our feelings into a work of art.”

The new single will be available on all streaming platforms on Friday September 4th
