Latitude 45 is proud to be working with Tafelmusik, a musical institution that has been shaping the Canadian cultural landscape for the last 40 years. To mark the occasion of their 40th anniversary, Tafelmusik has prepared a remarkable season.
Starting in less than a month with a performance of Mozart's 40th symphony, the season will include tours in the USA, Western Canada and Ontario, Bach’s St. Matthew Passion directed by Masaaki Suzuki, and their first Vivaldi recording. Known for their stunning multimedia creations, Tafelmusik will also present a new production titled The Harlequin Salon, which takes the audience back in time to an 18th century Roman salon party, full of intrique, elegance, and joy.
December will be dedicated to the Messiah, featuring Canadian star mezzo Krisztina Szabo, as well as tenor Charles Daniels and baritone Drew Santini. Their traditional Sing-Along Messiah will be held this year at Roy Thomson Hall.
The logo for their 40th anniversary was hand made by Michael Barker of Acme Art & Design and was inspired by baroque images and paintings.

Une 40ème saison pour Tafelmusik!
Latitude 45 est fier de travailler avec tafelmusik, une institution musicale qui marque le paysage culturel canadien depuis 40 ans. Pour célébrer cet anniversaire, l'ensemble a préparé une saison très excitante.
Débutant dans moins d'un mois avec la Symphonie nᵒ 40 en sol mineur de Mozart, la saison inclura une tournée aux États-Unis, dans l'ouest canadien et en Ontario. Masaaki Suzuki y dirigera La Passion selon St. Matthieu de Bach et leur premier enregistrement de Vivaldi. Connu pour ses créations multimédiatiques époustouflantes, Tafelmusik présentera également une production intitulé The Harlequin Salon; un voyage plein d'intrigues, d'élégances et de joie dans une fête de salon romain du 18e siècle.
