Violist Marina Thibeault has had a busy concert schedule this year, with a solo debut at the Orchestre Métropolitain in Mozart's ethereal Sinfonia Concertante, performed with violinist Yukari Couisineau and with the Orchestre Appassionata in Telemann's viola concert. Upcoming in April is her solo debut with the Orchestre Symphonique de Drummondville with clarinetist Jean-François Normand in Bruch's double concerto.
And a lovely surprise - recently Marina invited a special guest on stage for her performance of a Brahms lullaby with mezzo-soprano Wallis Giunta - little Lucien, her son! Lucien was a perfect companion to this divine piece, and seemed right at home in the middle of the music. Enjoy the video of this sweet encounter, above.
Marina Thibeault : Débuts avec Orchestres majeurs du Québec et une performance remarquée de son fils
L’altiste Marina Thibeault a tout un horaire cette année, débutant avec une prestation solo de la Sinfonia Concertante de Mozart avec l’Orchestre Métropolitain et la violoniste Yukari Cousineau, ainsi qu’avec l’Orchestre Appassionata et le Concerto pour alto de Telemann. En avril, elle fera aussi ses débuts avec l’Orchestre Symphonique de Drummonville et le clarinettiste Jean-François Normand dans le Double Concerto de Bruch.
Marina nous a fait aussi une belle surprise en amenant son fils Lucien sur scène avec la mezzo-soprano Wallis Giunta lors de l’interprétation d’une berceuse de Brahms. Lucien a parfaitement joué le rôle, très à l’aise dans ce contexte singulier accompagné de cette divine musique !
