Daniel Clarke Bouchard was born with the millennium in January 2000. He started studying the piano at the age of five years old and gave his first piano recital at six.
Since these early beginnings, he has received much recognition for his musical performance as well as for his deligthful personality on stage. Daniel Clarke Bouchard received the grand prize for three consecutive years at the Joy of Music Festival held at Mcgill University. In 2009, he won the gold medal at the Montreal Classical Music Festival. In 2010, he took gold in the Concerto Competition as part of the Quebec Music Educators’ Association. Daniel Clarke Bouchard won first place at the 2011 Canadian Music Competition and received the Yamaha, Canimex and Gilles Chatel scholarships.
He has performed extensively in classical repertoire. In 2015 he performed Mozart’s piano concert #21 with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra. In 2012, he had the privilege of making his debut with the Metropolitan Orchestra, performing the Mendelssohn piano concerto no.1. This concert was part of the Montreal Highlights Festival. On May 20, 2012, Daniel performed at Carnegie Hall, as first prize winner of the Bradshaw and Buono International Piano Competition held in New York. Daniel has performed in venues such as the New Symphonic Hall of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, la Place des Arts, the Oscar Peterson Hall, the Redpath Hall at McGill University, Birks and at Le Maison Trestler. He has performed with the I Musici orchestra in Montreal and also the Bach concerto in F minor with the Appassionata Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Daniel Myssyk. Daniel performed Finzi's, Eclogue for piano and string orchestra with the Sinfonia Orchestra of Montreal at Place des Arts in 2015. Also in 2015, the Auryn Quartet of Germany invited Clarke Bouchard to perform Mozart's Piano Quartet no.1 in Ottawa as part the Music and Beyond Festival.
On a jazzier note, Daniel has shared the stage and performed with the great Oliver Jones who has been his mentor for many years. He has performed at the Montreal International Festival de Jazz in 2012 and also gave a performance with the Montreal Jubilation choir, conducted by Dr.Trevor Payne, performing at the Francofolies closing ceremony.
As an emerging young celebrity, 2014 was a very big year for Daniel. He made appearances on the Ellen DeGeneres Show in Los Angeles and the George Stromboloupoulos show. He performed with iconic American group Earth,Wind and Fire and he won his first Felix award for classical album of the year.
He was the ambassador for Jeunesses Musicales Canada in 2014
and he appeared at the TedEx Youth Conference. Daniel Clarke Bouchard has also generously put his talents and renown to the service of fundraising and gala events in Montreal.
Daniel Clarke Bouchard currently studies piano at the Conservatoire de Musique de Montreal and at the prestigious Accademia Pianistica International “Incontri con maestro” in Imola, Italy.
